McDevitt welcomes Ministers decision to engage with residents of Lower Lisburn Road and Malone Road to introduce parking scheme

South Belfast SDLP MLA Conall McDevitt has welcomed the Minister of Regional Development’s decision for the Roads Service to engage with residents to introduce a parking scheme which will see parking for residents to be a lot easier.

Following a question which Conall put to the Minister of Regional Development asking him to consider a parking scheme for residents in the Lower Lisburn Road and Malone Road areas, the Minister has announced that he has asked the Roads Service to engage with residents from Malone Avenue, Eglantine Avenue, Wellington Park and Wellesley Avenue.

Conall has said, "I would like to welcome the Ministers decision for the Roads Service to liaise with the local residents and would hope that following on from this, the Minister will introduce a parking scheme which would make parking a lot easier for residents."

"Residents have approached me about this problem and have told me that parking in this part of South Belfast has been a problem for quite a while now. I am glad that the Minister and his department have finally recognised this and are working to resolve this problematic issue."
